Your New Council Online

Recognizing the growth and potential of using social media as a communications tool, Newry, Mourne and Down District Council, your new Council, is now on Facebook and Twitter.

Chief Executive, Liam Hannaway said, “We will deliver communications that are accessible, engaging, transparent and as cost effective to members of the public as possible. We see social media tools such as Facebook, Twitter and others, as a vital method in engaging with our citizens and currently communicating the changes happening within our Council.

Newry, Mourne and Down District Council has been online from the beginning of March, posting information about the new Council, district area and local government reform. We would encourage our citizens to connect with us online so information can be easily exchanged. If you have Twitter or Facebook please ‘follow’ us, or give us a ‘like’.”

Mr Hannaway added, “The new Council has a temporary website in place with essential information provided about our new Council’s elected members, minutes of meetings, contact details etc. We do hope to have a much more comprehensive site go live in the future.”
