Successful Multiply Programme Comes to an End with a Family Fun Day
To celebrate the conclusion of the Multiple Programme and its success, Crotlieve District Electoral Area Forum (DEA), hosted a fantastic family fun day at An Cuan, Rostrevor.
The Multiply Programme, funded by the UK Government and the Department for the Economy NI, has supported individuals and communities across Newry, Mourne and Down through a series of initiatives aimed at promoting confidence in numeracy and everyday learning.
The day was organised to bring families together in a welcoming and inclusive setting offering a fun and engaging environment that promoted learning through interactive activities. While participants of all ages took part in pursuits including archery, dance classes, arts and crafts workshops, football and basketball, others relaxed with refreshments and enjoyed the scenic surroundings of Carlingford Lough.
Speaking about the event, Chairperson of the Crotlieve DEA, Councillor Mickey Ruane said, “It was wonderful to see so many families coming together to enjoy the activities and atmosphere at An Cuan. The Multiply Programme has been about supporting learning in a fun and accessible way and this event was a great example of how successful the initiative has been across the district."
Councillor Ruane continued, “This interactive approach has enabled us to engaged with parents and children in fun, hands-on numeracy activities and helped them to develop practical maths skills for everyday life. This family fun day was a fitting conclusion to the programme, celebrating its impact in an enjoyable and interactive way.”
