Strangford Village To Host Next Downpatrick District Electoral Area Forum
Newry, Mourne and Down District Council invites you to the next Downpatrick District Electoral Area (DEA) public meeting being held on Tuesday 29 November 2016 at 7pm in Inverbrenna Hall, Strangford.
Priorities for action will be considered in groups under the themes of Health and Wellbeing; Economic Development, Regeneration and Tourism; Environment and Planning; and Safety and Good Relations.
The meeting will provide the opportunity to meet with all appointed members of the Downpatrick DEA Forum as well as Policing and Community Safety Partnership staff who will be attending to discuss crime and safety issues in particular.
Chairperson of the Downpatrick DEA Forum, Councillor Gareth Sharvin said, “Since the formation of the Newry, Mourne and Down District Council we have a new and exciting responsibility to work with communities to develop a Community Plan for the area. In Downpatrick and across Lecale we are drawing up a local plan based on issues identified that matter to local people and feed this into the wider Community Plan. At this meeting we will be reporting on work done so far plus we will be asking everyone at the meeting to add their ideas for further development. We recognise the need to meet locally and move around the DEA so we are really pleased to be in Strangford’s Inverbrenna Hall for this meeting.”
