Storm Ashley Service Updates 20.10.2024

The Met Office Yellow Warning for strong winds remains in place across the district until midnight. Please note the following services below have been disrupted due to the impact of #StormAshley: 

Refuse Collection Services 
If your bin is due to be collected tomorrow, Monday 21 October, please note delayed start of 7.30am for collections. 
Residents are advised to only leave their bin out for collection tomorrow morning, before 7.30am, to avoid damage to property caused by high winds overnight.

Parks and Community Trails 
In line with this warning, the district's Forest/Country Parks (Castlewellan, Delamont, Kilbroney and Slieve Gullion) and Community Trails are CLOSED due to the increased likelihood and risks associated with falling branches and debris. All associated facilities (Cafes, Caravan Parks, Forest drives etc) are also CLOSED.

Please note that there may be some delays in the re-opening of the Parks and Community Trails tomorrow morning to facilitate necessary safety inspections.
