Silent Film Extravaganza Celebrating Buster Keaton
Sean Hollywood Arts Centre looks forward to hosting this exciting collaboration of Buster Keaton silent movies, accompanied by a score of live music by musician, Colin Reid and sound effects artist, Reggie Chamberlain-King.
2017 is the centenary of Buster Keaton's debut screen appearance. Beloved by everyone from Samuel Beckett to Jackie Chan, his beautiful silent films remain as funny as when they were first screened.
Colin Reid is one of Ireland's premier guitarists and pianists and is composer of ‘The Third Policeman’ starring Stephen Rea. Reggie Chamberlain-King's work as sound effects artist has been broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and BBC Radio 4 as well as in the USA and Canada. Both have come together in this collaboration on a special, original accompaniment for a series of Keaton films.
Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Chairperson, Councillor Roisin Mulgrew said, “This will be a really enjoyable evening for both Buster Keaton fans and for those that have yet to experience this great comic genius. I highly recommend everyone come along to this event as part of our varied Arts programme”.
The event takes place on Wednesday 27 September at 8pm. Tickets cost £8 per person and £6 for concessions from Sean Hollywood Arts Centre. To book contact Box Office on 028 3031 3180.
