Sean Hollywood Arts Centre Hosts New Exhibition
The Carroll Gallery at Sean Hollywood Arts Centre, Newry is currently hosting the second solo exhibition by local artist Mark O’Neill. The exhibition entitled ‘Colours of the Med’ will be on display until the end of the September.
Mark held his first solo exhibition in the Centre during the summer of 2015 and it proved so popular he worked towards his second show. ‘Colours of The Med’ is a vibrant mix of images from across Italy, Newry in the Past, a range of images in Charcoal and pencil of Newry City.
Characterised by loose brush strokes and bold colours, the work of Mark O’Neill has been featured in one-man and collective shows in New York, Liverpool, London, Dublin, Newry, Banbridge and Carlingford.
Qualified from Liverpool University with a BA Honours in Fine Art, O’Neill paints energetic land and cityscapes that showcase the unique charm of their locales from Spain to New York, Key West to his native Ireland and are marked by fluidity and vibrancy in both motion and hue.
Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Chairperson, Councillor Gillian Fitzpatrick said, “Newry, Mourne and Down has a great history of with the arts and once again we are fortunate to facilitate works by amazing local talent in The Sean Hollywood Arts Centre and I know Mark looks forward to you visiting the show.”
