Rostrevor Hosts Festival Celebrating the Magical Land of Narnia

This year’s Narnia Festival, supported by Newry, Mourne and Down District Council, promises to transport you to the magical land of Narnia, with activities for the whole family.

The Festival, which incorporates poetry and story-telling, a family day at the Narnia Trails and a special themed evening event in Narrow Water Castle, will take place Friday 16–Sunday 18 November and promises to be bigger than ever with a number of new events added.

Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Chairman, Councillor Mark Murnin said, “Once again the Council is delighted to organise the Narnia Festival which capitalises on the region’s connections with CS Lewis and celebrates the landscape which inspired his famous Narnia.

“This year we have added a number of new features to ensure that the Festival truly offers something for everyone. We will feature a Narnia themed murder mystery event in the historic Narrow Water Castle; theatrical tours of the Narnia Trail, which has recently been enhanced; a singers’ circle event, children’s story telling and adult poetry workshops in the Cloughmore Centre, Kilbroney Park.

“We look forward to welcoming visitors throughout the weekend festivities.”

The weekend kicks off on Friday, with the CS Lewis Singers’ Circle and the murder mystery event. Saturday begins with a Narnia family day, from 11am-4pm and includes tours, theatrical performances, a food market, live music and more.

The final day features children’s story telling in Kilbroney Park and a poetry event to cap a weekend of magical fun for all.
