Grants and Funding

Newry, Mourne and Down District Council operates a number of grants and financial assistance programmes to contribute towards community projects.

New Financial Assistance Grant Manager is now open for registrations.

Financial Assistance 2024-2025 – Call 2

Newry, Mourne and Down District Council invites applications for financial assistance towards the programme areas outlined below:

• Community Events & Festivals
• Community Facility Minor Capital Items
• Community Lets Grow NMD
• Local Biodiversity
• Suicide Prevention and Emotional Wellbeing
• Defibrillators for Sports Clubs
• Sports Facility Capital – Major and Minor

Opening date: 13 May 2024 at 12 noon

Closing dates: Revenue Themes and Sport/Community Minor Capital Items 24 June 2024 at 12 noon.

Capital Themes 22 July 2024 at 12 noon (Sports Facility Capital – Major and Minor).

Funding Workshops

Workshops providing an overview of the financial assistance available, guidance on procurement and an overview of the new grant management system including how to register, took place as follows: 

• Newry Leisure Centre – Monday 20 May 2024 7pm to 9pm
• Ballynahinch Community Centre –Wednesday 22 May 2024 7pm to 9pm
• Online Workshop Tuesday 28 May 2024 at 1pm
