Service Update: Summer Opening Hours for Newcastle Public Toilets as Major Works Get Underway

The following Public Toilet facilities are open for public use with extended Summer Opening Hours from 1 July: 

  • Castle Park (Opening Times: Mon-Sun 8am-10pm) includes Disabled Toilet 
  • Islands Park (Opening Times: Mon-Sun 8am-10pm) includes Disabled Toilet
  • South Promenade (Opening Times: Mon-Sun 8am-10pm) includes Disabled Toilet 

Due to the planned works for the replacement and refurbishment of x3 Public Toilet blocks situated in Newcastle at Downs Road, Central Promenade and Donard Park, they are not currently suitable for use.

Directional signage will be in place at the temporarily closed locations, guiding locals, and visitors to the nearest open toilet facilities.

We apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your co-operation as we work to enhance public convenience provision in Newcastle town centre.   

Please note: Castlewellan Public Toilets is also currently closed due to refurbishment works until July 2024.
