Public Meeting on Community Safety to be held in Newry
Newry, Mourne and Down Policing and Community Safety Partnership (PCSP) and the PSNI are encouraging residents to attend a public meeting in Newry on the theme of community safety.
The meeting on Thursday 29 September will be held in the Canal Court Hotel from 7pm to 9pm. Open to all to attend, the meeting is a chance to share concerns and hear directly from the PCSP and the PSNI about their ongoing commitment to resolving local community safety issues.
Chairperson of Newry, Mourne and Down PCSP, Councillor Kathryn Owen said, “This is your opportunity to talk directly with senior police personnel and officers from local Neighbourhood Policing Teams. Newry, Mourne and Down PCSP aims to increase confidence in policing, and the open engagement opportunities provided through this public meeting are crucial to this aim. Therefore, I would encourage you to come along, ask questions, and have your voice heard. All members of the public are welcome to attend and there is no booking required.”
PSNI Superintendent Norman Haslett said, “We are delighted to provide this opportunity for members of the public to speak with members of local policing teams on issues which are affecting them in the Newry, Mourne and Down area. We will be available to answer questions and address any concerns you may have about policing across our district.”
