Public Meeting on Community Safety in Ballynahinch
Members of the public will soon have an opportunity to share their concerns about local community safety issues at a public meeting on Thursday 6 October in Millbrook Lodge Hotel, Ballynahinch.
Newry, Mourne and Down Policing and Community Safety Partnership (PCSP) and the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) have organised the meeting to provide members of the local community with an opportunity to share their concerns and hear directly from the PCSP and the PSNI about their ongoing commitment to resolving local community safety issues.
The meeting, which will start at 7pm, is open for all to attend and light refreshments will be available. Superintendent Norman Haslett from PSNI Newry, Mourne and Down, who will be taking part, said, “We are delighted to provide this opportunity for members of the public to speak with our local policing teams on issues which are affecting them in the Newry, Mourne and Down area. We will be available to answer questions and address any concerns you may have about policing across our district.”
Encouraging members of the public to come along to the event, Newry, Mourne and Down PCSP Chairperson, Councillor Kathryn Owen, said, “This is your opportunity to talk directly with senior police personnel and officers from local Neighbourhood Policing Teams. Newry, Mourne and Down PCSP aims to increase confidence in policing and the open engagement opportunities which the PCSP provides through this public meeting are crucial to this. Therefore, I would encourage you to come along, ask questions, and have your voice heard. All members of the public are welcome to attend and there is no booking required.”
