Positive Aging Afternoon Tea Dance Celebrating the Joy of Ageing Well
Crotlieve DEA hosted a Positive Ageing Afternoon Tea Dance on Tuesday 25 March, bringing together people from across the district to celebrate positive aging in a fun and welcoming environment.
150 attendees gathered at Warrenpoint Town Hall for the much-anticipated annual event, which continues to be a highlight for the local community.
Speaking about the importance of such as these, Chairperson Councillor Pete Byrne said, "It is always wonderful to see our community come together to enjoy an afternoon of friendship, music and dancing. The Positive Aging Afternoon Tea Dance means so much to everyone who attends and I am delighted that we could once again create such a memorable day for all."
Guests enjoyed a delicious lunch while being serenaded by the fantastic Gabriel & Ellen and the uplifting voices of the U3A Gentlemen’s Choir. Adding to the afternoon’s excitement, they took to the dance floor with Chairperson Councillor Pete Byrne, who happily joined in the celebrations. Three lucky guests were also delighted to win beautiful Spring Hampers, generously supplied by Crotlieve DEA.
The event was further enriched by the presence of a representative from Warrenpoint Fire Service and the PSNI, who engaged with guests, provided valuable safety information and distributed merchandise. Their participation added an informative and interactive element to the afternoon, ensuring attendees had the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about community safety.
The Positive Aging Afternoon Tea Dance remains a cherished occasion, highlighting the importance of community connections and celebrating the joy of aging well.
