Positive Ageing Afternoon Tea Dance
Crotlieve DEA Fora has hosted an afternoon tea dance as part of Positive Ageing Month 2018.
Collaborating with the Age Friendly Alliance, older members of the community enjoyed afternoon tea and dancing along with other entertainment at Warrenpoint Town Hall on Tuesday 16 October.
Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Deputy Chairperson, Councillor Oksana McMahon, was among those in attendance. She said: “Events such as these provide opportunities to combat social isolation as people can chat, connect and learn about services available in the Newry, Mourne and Down District area.
"These events would not be possible without a number of agencies working together and are a great example of community planning working well in action. The aim is to reduce rural and social isolation and provide a platform for people to connect and build new relations, enhancing health and well-being outcomes."
Those attending the event were able to engage with a range of statutory and voluntary agencies. A number of businesses were also on hand to offer information and advice.
