PCSP Rolls Out Summer Diversionary Programme
PCSP Rolls Out Summer Diversionary Programme
On Friday 22 July, the Newry, Mourne and Down Policing and Community Safety Partnership (PCSP) held the first night of their new Summer Diversionary Programme.
Young people from Saul GAC took part in the new programme that has been developed to combat the increase in anti-social behaviour that happens during the summer evenings.
During the evening, the young people from Saul GAC were able to enjoy two hours of exciting activities such as bubble football, with the PSNI Neighbourhood Policing Teams in attendance to offer advice and information on community safety issues such as internet safety, implications of anti-social behaviour and the effects of drugs and alcohol.
The free Programme, that will take place each Friday night during July and August, is aimed at young people aged 12 to 16 years, with up to 200 youths participating in the programme throughout the summer.
Community Groups have been invited to submit an Expression of Interest to the PCSP and the successful groups were allocated on a first come first served basis.
For any additional information or enquiries regarding this Programme please contact the Policing and Community Safety Partnership on 028 4461 0857.
