Newry’s FIRST Food Festival – Be Part of It!
The excitement is building for Newry’s FIRST Food Festival which takes place in the heart of the city centre in The Variety Market, John Mitchell Place on Friday 24th April from 12 to 6pm. Your taste buds are guaranteed to be satisfied with over 30 food producers, restaurants and eateries taking part.
Local businesses are bringing a taste of their menus to the heart of Newry – be sure to stop by for lunch, tea, a coffee or snack and even bring some wholesome Northern Ireland produce home to your own kitchen.
To date the following local eateries are taking part: Bellini’s, Café Krem, Courtneys, Grounded Espresso Bars, La Dolce Vita, The Moody Boar, Lisa’s - The Wellness Café, Maya Coffee Company, My Aunt Janes, The Canal Court Hotel, The Shelbourne and The Sugar Supper Club.
You can purchase from the following food producers in ‘The Market Place’ – Ballydougherty Icecream, Ballymoran Meats, City Cheese, Crepes 2 Go, Choice Pizza, Harnett’s Oils, Keen Nutrition, McGees, NearyNogs Artisan Chocolate, Need of Meats, Passion Preserved, Price’s Icecream, Red Dog Artisan Food, Silverfin, Sunray Home Bakery, The Gluten Free Patisserie, The Krazi Baker and The Milestone.
A range of demonstrations will take place between 12 and 6pm including SRC Catering Students and Aine’s Cookery School, there is colouring-in for children and live music for everyone to enjoy.
This event has been organized by SRC first year Foundation Degree Hospitality & Tourism / Travel & Tourism Management students as part of their Events Operations.
The Market has been made available free of charge to stall holders by Newry, Mourne and Down District Council.
