Newry Town Hall Launches New Spring Shows
Get ready to be entertained this spring with Newry Town Hall’s line up of amazing shows! From the historical drama of ‘The Man who Left the Titanic’ to the touching and barrier breaking ‘Expecting’, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
‘The Man who Left the Titanic’ tells the story of J.Bruce Ismay, Managing Director of the White Star Line, stepping into a lifeboat and sailing away from the stricken ‘Titanic’ ship. Join us on Thursday 13 April at 8pm to witness this unforgettable tale, brought to life by Isoceles in association with Useful Idiots.
On Wednesday 10 May at 8pm, The Bruiser Theatre company presents Owen McCafferty’s play ‘Mojo Mickybo’, a poignant play about two boys whose friendship is destroyed by sectarian violence. This moving play will take you on an emotional journey that you won’t forget. The play’s action is set in Belfast over the summer of 1970 and contains strong language.
‘The Man Who Swallowed a Dictionary’, a one-man show about the life of ex-UVF and PUP politician, David Ervine, will be performed by Green Shoot on Tuesday 16 May at 8pm. Follow David’s life from his early days in East Belfast to his involvement in political negotiations at the White House and Downing Street. This show contains strong language
Finally, on Friday 19 May, c21 Theatre Company brings you ‘Expecting’, a powerful play about the challenges of motherhood and fatherhood. Shauna and Robbie are expecting but they have different expectations. Follow their journey as they face financial difficulties and postnatal depression. Will they find a way to overcome their differences and come together for the sake of their child?
