Newry, Mourne and Down Job Fair Will Support Employers’ With Current Job Vacancies
Local employers from the Newry, Mourne and Down are being given the opportunity to promote their current job vacancies to local residents at an upcoming Job Fair on Friday 24 May in Newry, hosted by Newry, Mourne and Down Labour Market Partnership.
Labour Market Partnerships, which create targeted employment action plans for council areas, are funded by the Department for Communities and allow for collaboration at a local and regional level to support people towards and into work.
Now in its third year, Newry, Mourne and Down Job Fair is an excellent platform for businesses across the district to promote live employment vacancies and engage directly with potential employees interested in starting, progressing or shifting careers.
Local employers can promote and recruit for current vacancies across a range of various sectors including manufacturing, professional services, health care, finance, hospitality, transport and many more. Vacancies can range from full-time to part-time, and flexible and casual roles, with global, local and family-owned businesses.
Launching the Job Fair at the Canal Court Hotel, Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Chairperson, Councillor Valerie Harte said, “Employers across our district can promote their current employment vacancies and connect with talented individuals. The regional Labour Markets are currently driven by high demand from employers, resulting in tight competition. The Job Fair presents a valuable opportunity for our indigenous businesses to directly interact with potential employees. By showcasing their current job offerings, businesses can actively contribute to their growth and long-term success. Exhibition space at previous Job Fairs have been oversubscribed, so employers are encouraged to register their interest as early as possible to secure their place.
The Job Fair will take place in the Canal Court Hotel on Friday 24 May from 10.30am-3pm. Employers wishing to exhibit for free can register by emailing dfcemployerservices@communities-ni.gov.uk
