Newry, Mourne and Down Entrepreneurs and Businesses Encouraged to ‘Go Succeed’ with a Groundbreaking New Support Service
Groundbreaking new Enterprise Support Service launched in Newry, Mourne and Down District to help drive local and regional economy.
A major new Enterprise Support Service - ‘Go Succeed’ was officially revealed on Tuesday 14 November 2023 in Killeavy Castle Estate. Promising to support entrepreneurs, new starts, and existing businesses across Newry, Mourne and Down, the new free service offers flexible and easily accessible advice and support at every stage of their growth journey.
Go Succeed will provide a holistic approach to government support services with a greater focus on providing a tailored service to suit individual needs, in a bid to foster enterprise across the region. Led by Northern Ireland’s 11 local Councils, it will provide entrepreneurs and businesses with the direct support they need including mentoring, masterclasses, peer networks, access to grant funding and a business plan.
Funded by the UK Government and powered by the government’s Levelling Up Fund, Go Succeed represents a significant investment in local entrepreneurs and businesses.
Speaking on how the new initiative will benefit businesses across the district, Newry, Mourne and Down District Council, Chairperson Councillor Valerie Harte said, “I am delighted a new Enterprise Support Service is now in place for local businesses in Newry, Mourne and Down. This service is designed to assist businesses at every stage of their journey, whether you’re a fledgling start up taking those first cautious steps, or an established enterprise, the support is there!”
Chairperson Councillor Valerie Harte continued, “Newry, Mourne and Down is home to over 9,375 businesses and is an increasingly important contributor to the economy in the North of Ireland. Our district is full of local enterprises that embody excellence, diversity and tenacity, and through support services like Go Succeed, the Council hopes to demonstrate its commitment to strengthening and driving business growth and helping our local businesses flourish.”
Artist, Jacqueline Rooney was the guest speaker at the launch event in Killeavy Castle, Jacqueline shared her entrepreneurial journey to date. Jacqueline said “It was an absolute honour to be invited as a guest speaker by Newry, Mourne and Down District Council for the launch of Go Succeed NI. It was lovely to share my business journey and growth and hear all about this exciting programme available for fellow entrepreneurs at all stages of their business journey.”
