Newry, Mourne and Down District Council online business support workshops and podcasts
Newry, Mourne and Down District Council has launched a range of initiatives this week designed to support local businesses affected by the challenges presented by the ongoing COVID-19 emergency.
The restrictions around COVID-19 have had a huge impact on businesses across the Council area and in order to help businesses to survive the current situation, business owners can avail of workshops on a range of topics including, cash flow management, embracing e-commerce and managing stress.
The online workshops are part funded by Invest Northern Ireland and the European Regional Development Fund under the Investment for Growth & Jobs Northern Ireland (2014 -2020) programme.
In keeping with advice of the Public Health Agency, all workshops will be delivered remotely via Zoom and on completion they will be converted into podcasts, making it easy for any business to tune in and take advantage of the advice, at any time.

The series of eight workshops, each lasting two hours, begins on the 29 April and will run through to 14 May.
Businesses taking part in the Workshops or accessing the podcasts will get advice on the impact of COVID-19 on local business, getting your business online, selling via YouTube, managing stress, good leadership and how to optimise your online performance.
Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Chairperson, Councillor Charlie Casey said "The Council is fully aware of the impact of the COVID-19 crisis on the local economy, and of the need to support businesses at this time.
“While we are all prepared to take the necessary steps to combat coronavirus there is no doubt that the lockdown and restrictions on movement are having a huge impact on businesses. We want companies in our Council area to not only survive the current crisis but to thrive when we get back to normality. This suite of workshops has been put together by Council as an immediate response to the current situation and we have designed the workshops and follow up podcasts to ensure we are providing a completely flexible support service to local firms and in a way which is safe and adheres to all health advice.
“I encourage all local businesses to take part and to use this period as an opportunity to deal with the current crisis and plan for a prosperous future.”
