Newry, Mourne and Down District Council holds EU Exit Planning Meeting
The Downshire Estate in Downpatrick will be the venue for an event to assist local businesses importing and exporting wild caught fish to and from the EU in the event of a no deal Brexit.
The event, which is being hosted by Newry, Mourne and Down District Council in conjunction with the Department for Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs, will take place on Tuesday 8 October 2019, from 10am until 1.30pm in the Great Hall, Downshire Estate, Ardglass Road, Downpatrick, BT30 6CQ.
A second event, focusing on the export of fish and fishery products derived from aquaculture, will also be held on Monday 7 October 2019, from 10am until 1.30pm at Lough Neagh Discovery Centre, Oxford Island National Nature Reserve, Craigavon BT66 6NJ.
The seminars are designed to provide a clear understanding of the actions to be taken as a result of a no deal EU exit. Local council Environmental Health Officers, DAERA Fish Health Inspectors and Veterinary Inspectors will provide information on the Export Health Certificates (EHCs) that will be required for future exports to the EU in the event of a No Deal exit.
