Local SME’s and Entrepreneurs Urged to Sign Up to ‘Get Your Business Online’ Programme
Businesses in the Newry, Mourne and Down Council area are being encouraged to sign up to the ‘Get Your Business Online’ programme. This business support programme is aimed at helping local SMEs to set up a website and to get their business online. It is being delivered as part of the NMD Business Support Programme and is open to all business located in the Council area which employ less than 50 people.
The ‘Get Your Business Online’ programme and is part funded by Invest Northern Ireland and the European Regional Development Fund under the Investment for Growth & Jobs Northern Ireland (2014 -2020) programme.
The Programme will consist of four workshops and a mentoring programme will provide digitally focused mentoring support. Completion of the four workshops are mandatory and presents an opportunity for businesses to apply to receive one-to-one mentoring in the design and delivery of websites. The workshops will cover the following themes:
- Getting your Business Online
- Setting Up a Small Business Website
- Social Media Fundamentals
- SEO, Analytics and Pulling It All Together
All participants must be located in the Newry, Mourne and Down Council area. The programme is open to entrepreneurs and SMEs in all sectors and there is no cost for participating businesses. There is no cost for participating businesses, however they must commit to all four workshops, in order to progress to the mentoring element of the programme. It will provide an opportunity for businesses to inform people about their products and services, reinforce their brand, and encourage both return and new custom through the online market.
Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Chairperson, Councillor Charlie Casey said, “I am delighted to see the latest phase of the NMD Business Growth Programme launched in this new ‘Get Your Business Online’ programme. While some SME’s may have a small online presence, they may not be fully aware of the key ingredients for successful online marketing, such as search engine optimisation, user functionality, market intelligence gathering and creative design.”
