Get Work Ready Programme launches in Newry, Mourne & Down
Clanrye Group is delighted to launch Get Work Ready across the Newry, Mourne and Down District Council area for individuals who are unemployed / who are ready for work and for those who are currently employed and who wish to upskill. This programme is an extension of the very successful Work Start programme which supported local individuals to prepare for and secure employment in early 2023.
Managed by Newry, Mourne and Down Labour Market Partnership, Get Work Ready will focus on personal and professional skills development in small groups and 1:1 support over the course of 12 weeks. Funded by the Department for the Communities, Labour Market Partnerships (LMP) create targeted employment action plans for council areas, allowing for collaboration at local and regional level to support people towards and into work.
In a digital era, the support offered will ensure that those who aren’t confident online gain the skills they need for basic IT functions i.e. setting up an email account, completing a CV, job search online, online application forms and even creating a LinkedIn profile. A variety of workshops and sessions are also offered to help individuals build their confidence, communication and interview preparation which can be a significant barrier for lots of people who want and need a job.
Speaking about the new programme, Liam Devine – CEO of Clanrye Group said:
“Following on from the success of Work Start we are thrilled to be able to launch Get Work Ready for people across Newry, Mourne and Down. This is a fantastic opportunity for people in the local area to avail of top-quality help and support to get a job. It’s not easy for job seekers and employers in the current climate but our aim is to work with both parties to create positive matches.
