Get Snap Happy in the Ring of Gullion!
Newry, Mourne and Down District Council have teamed up with Enda Flynn to provide a free Ring of Gullion Heritage Photography Workshop on Saturday 16th May starting at 11.00am in the Pastoral Centre, Jonesborough. The workshop will provide help to anyone, who is hoping to enter the Ring of Gullion Photo Competition.
Therese Hamill, Ring of Gullion AONB Officer said “It’s great to get involved with Enda who specializes in nature photography. His work has been published in newspapers, magazines, calendars brochures in Ireland and Britain. The workshop will be hands on and will enable the group to get out around Jonesborough and get tips on how to take the best photograph.”
The workshop will give everyone involved a chance to take various photographs, using all the key features on the camera, and gain confidence in photography. All makes and models of cameras are welcome at this workshop and you will be part of a small friendly group of no more than 10 students.
Enda Flynn states “I am planning to keep the workshop as practical as possible with a short and simple presentation to outdoor photography fundamentals, which will cover getting excellent photos of buildings, landscapes, people or wildlife. We will then move outside, where the group will get a chance to take their own photographs to help reinforce the basics.”
This workshop will involve going outside, please wear appropriate shoes and clothing for the weather. This is a free event supported by Newry Mourne and Down District Council and Northern Ireland Environment Agency. Booking is essential. To book your place on the workshop visit www.ringofgullion.org and click on events.
