Fun for All on National Play Day
Newry, Mourne and Down District Council’s Downpatrick, Rowallane and Slieve Croob District Electoral Fora will mark National Play Day with a series of exciting and fun filled activities across the district during the week beginning 5 August.
National Play Day is traditionally held at the beginning of August across the UK and is an opportunity for children to develop relationships, deal with conflict and learn respect and tolerance. This year’s theme is ‘Play Builds Children’ as play is a great way for children to enjoy activities and make connections with others.
The activities to mark the day will include climbing walls, archery, multi-sports and bush craft and there will be plenty for older children and adults to enjoy, including yogalates, step aerobics and Zumba.
If you would like to join in the fun, come along to one of the local events:
Wednesday 7 August – Meadows Playing Field, Ardglass, 12-3pm
Thursday 8 August – Castlewellan Community Centre, Circular Road, Castlewellan, 12-3pm
Friday 9 August – Delamont Country Park, Killyleagh,12-3pm
