FIRST MEETING OF NEWRY, MOURNE AND DOWN PCSP
Newry, Mourne and Down Policing and Community Safety Partnership (PCSP) held their first meeting on Saturday 29 August 2015 in Newcastle.
Councillor Mickey Larkin, PCSP Chairperson in opening the meeting stated, “We are establishing a new Partnership at a time of even more cutbacks, rationalisation and general uncertainty around budgets and resources. For these reasons we need to make sure we think and plan smart. It is important also, that we impress upon those who have responsibility for budgets that we cannot cut our way to safer communities. We must, at all times, listen to and act upon the needs of all in our community. Our decisions, our actions and our programme of work must be determined by those community needs.”
At the conclusion of the meeting members were thanked for attending and for contributing so positively.
