Festive Sparkle at Slieve Croob Public Safety Event
The Slieve Croob District Electoral Area (DEA) Forum will host a ‘Safety at Christmas’ public event in The Dan Rice Memorial Hall, Drumaness on Wednesday 30 November, from 7pm to 9pm. The free event is open to all residents within the Slieve Croob area and will put everyone in the Christmas spirit as pupils from Christ the King Primary School sing their hearts out to festive tunes.
Children will be entertained with the many activities on offer such as balloon modelling, face painting and Christmas workshops, including a special visit from Santa. As the children run around full of excitement, adults can take part in the festive flower arranging workshop and enjoy a mince pie.
Chairperson of the Slieve Croob DEA, Councillor Stephen Burns explained, “The event will also be an opportunity to get useful safety tips from the various agencies attending the event. We are delighted to welcome O2 who will be providing information on securing and protecting your tablets and phones against viruses and how to stay safe online. This comes at an opportune time when many parents are thinking of buying gadgets for Christmas gifts.”
Councillor Stephen Burns said, “Myself, elected representatives and forum members will be available to chat to you about any issues or concerns you may have. There is also a £50 voucher to be won, so one lucky resident will have an extra special Christmas.”
He concluded, “I would like to thank all residents for their input into the community consultation process this year and I am delighted that local people will now start shaping the future of community planning”.
