Falling or Flying Art Exhibition Set for Down Arts Centre
Down Arts Centre is set to welcome a new exhibition by artist, designer and director, Alistair Livingstone. The exhibition will run from Friday 12 April until Saturday 4 May and is a personal exploration of the concepts of ‘falling’ and ‘flying’.
Falling in or out of love, falling from grace, falling leaves, water falls, young birds and children flying from the nest—all of these are well understood concepts. The imagery in this series draws on the artist’s memories and widens out to explore the general concepts.
Using a variety of materials, techniques and software, Alistair created a limited edition of large Giclée prints while working as Artist in Residence at Creative Spark in Dundalk. Giclée prints employ a fine art digital printing process, combining pigment-based inks with high quality paper to create a print of archival quality.
The exhibition at the Down Arts Centre will be Alistair’s first in Northern Ireland to focus on his personal exploration of the themes of falling and flying. There will be a private view on Thursday 11 April at 7.30pm and the public exhibition will begin on Friday, 12 April.
