Everyone Welcome to Living History Archive Launch at Bessbrook Town Hall
Do you have an interesting story about growing up in Bessbrook? If you do, we want to hear from you!
Bessbrook: Model Village Living History Archive project, which is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, is opening its doors to the public on Tuesday 6 June at 7:30pm in Bessbrook Townhall. Come along to share stories of Bessbrook and its surrounding areas and hear our guest speakers talk about the past, present and future of this stunning little village.
Guest Speakers, Alf McCreary and Graham McDowell, both grew up in Bessbrook and have vivid memories of the village that shaped their lives. Accompany them as they tell of their childhoods growing up in the village and invite stories from the audience.
Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Chairperson, Gillian Fitzpatrick said "The heritage and history of Bessbrook and the surrounding area are so very fascinating. This project offers a unique opportunity to engage with the local community and share stories. An online archive of memories and artefacts will be created to share with the world, building a picture of the village that will cross generations. Come along and have a cup of tea and a biscuit to reminisce. All are welcome!”
