Enjoy Great Local Food and Drink with NI Food Tours
As part of the Year of Food and Drink 2016, NI Food Tours will be taking visitors around the stunning locations of Newry, Mourne and Down to discover and taste great local food and drink.
NI Food Tours are organised by Tracey Jeffery, who is a producer of French Patisseri and has launched the tours to coincide with Newry, Mourne and Down District Council’s Taste Junction initiative, putting the emphasis on relaxation and learning about new types of food and drink. Guests will have an authentic experience meeting local food producers to sample their food and hear their stories.
Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Chairperson, Councillor Gillian Fitzpatrick said, “Our district has more award winning producers and restaurants in the area than anywhere else in Northern Ireland, which gives Newry, Mourne and Down a major tourism boost. We can be very proud of the fact that the area is so beautiful from the Strangford Lough coastline, the Mountains of Mourne and the Ring of Gullion. Newry, Mourne and Down District Council is delighted that Tracey Jeffery has started NI Food Tours and it is something that I am very excited about to see in our area”.
There are a range of Tours available including full day (10am to 4.30pm), half day and evening trips, where guests will be travel by coach from their starting destination to Newry, Mourne and Down.
Tracey Jeffery from NI Food Tours said, “This is just one of the bespoke tours on offer. Tours cost £70 per person, with special rate available for groups of 15 or more.
