Down Arts Centre Welcomes Dave Allen Tribute and New Musical Acts

Down Arts Centre is set to welcome two new shows in October. On Friday 4 October, Kieran Cunningham will come to Downpatrick with his one man show, Dave Allen: From the Cradle to the Grave which is based on the life of the legendary comedian.

The show grew out of Kieran’s lifelong fascination with the Irish performer as he grew up in the Newry of the 70s. Now an actor and musician based in Manchester, Kieran has come back to his roots to perform a tribute to the legend that was Dave Allen.

Hot on the heels of the Dave Allen tribute is a night of contemporary Irish and American music on Saturday 5 October. The evening of song and music comes from the five piece indie-folk group Lore, along with local band Saffyre, which is a family affair, comprising sisters Shauneen and Maria along with cousin Emma.

With finely crafted original songs and soaring harmonies, the evening will be an evening to remember.
