Down Arts Centre September Workshops and Classes
This September, Down Arts Centre will be encouraging visitors to try something new by taking part in one of the many classes and workshops on offer.
On 17 September, there will be Willow Basket weaving classes for adults and Crochet Granny Squares on Saturday 24. These are one day courses with all materials provided as well as a lunch.
There are still places available in the Crochet classes starting on 30 September. This class runs for ten weeks each Friday afternoon. Pottery for Beginners, an excellent class hosted by Aine McKenna that allows participants to take up a new skill, is kicking off on Wednesday 28 September for 10 weeks running from 10.30am to 12.30pm.
For those more interested in the musical side of the arts, our Guitar lessons will recommence on Thursday 29 September and are open to anyone aged 8 to 80 years. There will be lessons available for all abilities from beginners to improvers. So get musical this autumn and pick up the Guitar.
Children’s can unwind after a hard day at school with the ever popular Rock School starting on Thursday 29 September, from 4pm to 6pm for eight week and open to young people aged 11 to 15 years.
Saturday mornings in the Down Arts Centre are all about the children with the Image Making and Storytelling class with Lisa Murray. Classes start on Saturday 24 September from 11am to 12.30pm for six weeks and are open to all aged 7 to 11 years.
