Down Arts Centre Features Lake District Artist
The Down Arts Centre is pleased to host a solo show by Lake District artist and illustrator, Casey Allum from Friday 30 November until Saturday 22 December in the Centre’s Main Gallery.
The self-taught artist, who was born in the Lake District’s Langdale Valley, specialises in animal portraits using pencil, ink, pastels, oil and acrylic to bring her subjects to life.
Before becoming a full time artist, Casey worked throughout the United Kingdom in sales and management. When the call of the Lake District drew her back to her roots she first managed an art gallery before returning to her love of drawing.
Casey’s passion shows itself in the finer details, construction, form and texture, as she captures the essence of a subject in a simple pencil line. Her range of limited edition prints draws attention to those she portrays by using space and surrounding light to focus on the details in her composition.
Casey sells her originals and limited edition prints throughout the country and overseas along with a large array of art cards and wrapping paper. A recent addition to her range includes a selection of fine bone china pieces which is hand decorated and fired locally. Casey also accepts commissions in a variety of media.
A selection of original drawings and prints will be for sale during the exhibition. A full list of products and stockists can be found on her website www.caseyallum.com
