Domestic Homicide Reviews
A public consultation has been launched by the Department of Justice (DOJ) Community Safety Division seeking views on a proposed model for the introduction of Domestic Homicide Reviews in Northern Ireland. This is intended to seek opportunities for learning from the tragic circumstances where an adult (aged 16+) has been killed as a result of domestic violence and abuse.
The consultation document and response questionnaire are available at:
https://www.justice-ni.gov.uk/consultations/domestic-homicide-reviews
Responses should be sent to:
E-mail: DOJCommunity.SafetyUnitProjMailbox@justice-ni.x.gsi.gov.uk
Written: Community Safety Division, Room A4.03, Castle Buildings, Stormont (hard copy) Estate, Belfast, BT4 3SG
The DOJ Community Safety Division is keen to hear your views and receive information which will help them in shaping and finalising the model for Domestic Homicide Reviews in Northern Ireland. It recognises that you may require assistance in responding to the consultation and are happy to provide advice by phone or email, on request. The Community Safety Division would also like to invite representative organisations to hold a focus group session with their client group(s), which they would be happy to attend if that is deemed beneficial. If you would be interested in running a focus group as part of the consultation, please get in touch with them to discuss how they might help you to facilitate it. Please contact Joanne McPadden, (028 90 523772 or joanne.mcpadden@justice-ni.x.gsi.gov.uk) if you have any queries or wish to request attendance at a focus group.
Consultation responses must be received no later than Friday 28 September 2018.
At the end of the consultation period all the responses will be collated and a response report will be published on their website.
