Council Telephone Numbers are Changing from 24 January 2020
Newry, Mourne and Down District Council will announce new telephone numbers from 24 January 2020. These changes will result in improved contact with the Council and will make it easier for residents to get in touch with the services they need.
All existing telephone numbers will change including switchboard, services and direct dial numbers for all Council staff. The introduction and roll out of new phone numbers will be phased from the ‘switch over’ date, 24 January 2020, with the Council’s most called service numbers switching first. Further number changes will be introduced throughout February until the end of March 2020. Residents can keep up to date with the key changes via the Council’s website.
A public awareness campaign will commence in the New Year, helping residents across the district to be informed throughout the migration process from old to new numbers.
Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Chairperson, Councillor Charlie Casey said, “Just over a year ago, Newry, Mourne and Down District Council committed to replacing the Council’s existing telephony system. We are all looking forward to reaping the benefits of working with this new system, it will contribute to an improved customer service experience for residents and make our service delivery more convenient and efficient.”
The ‘switch over’ date is scheduled for Friday 24 January. For more information on the key changes to our telephone numbers, please visit https://www.newrymournedown.org/new-telephone-numbers or contact 0300 013 2233.
