Council Leadership Team Completed
Newry, Mourne and Down District Council has appointed Mrs Dorinnia Carville as the Director of Corporate Services.
Mrs Carville took up her post on 1 April 2016, completing the Council’s Senior Management Team.
Mrs Carville joins the Council with a strong financial background. She is a Chartered Accountant who spent six years working in the private sector in London, specialising in the transport, leisure and tourism sector.
She was previously part of the Senior Management Team at the NI Audit Office, holding the post of Corporate Services Director for four years and, more recently as Audit Director where her team was responsible for the financial audit of NI Departments and their Executive Agencies and a wide range of other public sector bodies.
Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Chairperson, Councillor Mickey Ruane,said, “I am delighted to welcome Dorinnia to our Senior Management Team in Newry, Mourne and Down District Council. Dorinnia will be responsible for a portfolio of functional areas to include Finance, Management Information and ICT Systems; Human Resources; Estates and Project Management; and Administration and Registration. Looking ahead to the three remaining years of our inaugural Corporate Plan, I am confident that with Dorinnia’s background and experience she will lead and develop our people, manage our finances, develop and manage our capital projects, utilise technology and continually change and improve the Council as a business. She will support the other members of the Senior Management Team in the effective management of the Council and its resources, ensuring that it runs smoothly, efficiently and economically.”
Chief Executive, Liam Hannaway was also delighted to welcome Mrs Carville to the Council’s leadership team and commented, “As we continue to drive forward the transformation of Newry, Mourne and Down District Council, I am pleased to announce the completion of my Senior Management Team, this is another step on our journey to accelerating the delivery of our corporate strategy for the district. I look forward to leading this strengthened team as we deliver on our targets for 2016-2019 and beyond."
Speaking about her appointment, Mrs Carville said, "I am delighted to be joining Newry, Mourne and Down District Council at such an exciting stage of the new Council. I am looking forward to working with Councillors, staff and the wider community to collectively enhance the services provided by the Council.”
Dorinnia, formerly from Newcastle, now lives in Saintfield with her husband Michael, a teacher, and their three children Alex (9), Emily (7) and Roan (3).
