Council Chair Presents Donation to Local Lad Declan
Chairperson Bailie invited Declan McMullan and his father John to the Downshire Civic Centre on Monday 12 October. At the meeting, Cllr Bailie presented the local lad with a donation from the Chairperson’s fund. The money will go towards the ‘Stuck For Words’ campaign which has been set up to help several charities including CRY, Brain Injury Matters, and suicide prevention charity Mind Your Mate & Yourself.
Cllr Bailie commented, “I am delighted to be able to contribute to the Stuck for Words campaign. It’s great to meet Declan, he’s an inspiration and his journey continues to humble me.”
Declan suffered a Cardiac Arrest aged 19 which resulted in brain damage and severe physical disability.
