Comedy and Drama Come to Down Arts Centre
Down Arts Centre is pleased to welcome local comedian Shane Todd, who brings his hilarious new stand-up show to Down Arts Centre on Friday 12 October.
Shane has performed around the world and is known for his BBC radio series - supported by the legendary American comedian Bill, and has gained a massive online following with his sketches and character videos.
Also making a welcome return to Down Arts Centre on Saturday 13 October is c21 Theatre Company which will be performing their new play, ‘It Only Takes a Minute’. This candid, coming-of-age drama focuses on the life of Michelle, a young girl living with Aspergers. Played with warmth, humour, heart, and lots of cultural references to the 90s and boy band, Take That.
Directed by Tom Finlay and with a stand out performance by Anna Kyle, one of Northern Ireland’s emerging disabled actresses, ‘It Only Takes a Minute’ is a mix of fun, excitement, uncertainty and emotion, casting a light on the increasing number of females with undiagnosed Aspergers and their struggle living in a neurotypical society.
Both performances start at 8pm with bar facilities from 7pm.
