Chairperson Hosts Students from St Paul’s High School, Bessbrook
Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Chairperson, Councillor Roisin Mulgrew hosted a visit from students of St Paul’s High School, Bessbrook, at the Council Offices, Newry, on Tuesday 26 September.
Councillor Roisin Mulgrew said, “I was delighted to host the visit and welcome the students; it was a wonderful opportunity for them to learn about the various departments within the Council. A visit like this helps our young people to acquire knowledge and understand the civic role the Council plays.”
The students from Mr Brown’s class are currently studying democracy and received a short presentation from Councillor Mulgrew and representatives from other local councils on the civic role of councils.Following the presentation the pupils had the chance to express their views on the facilities they would like the Council to provide in their own areas.
Councillor Mulgrew continued, “I would like to thank Mr Brown and the classroom assistants for taking time out of their busy schedules to facilitate the visit.”
