Chairperson Hosts Knockevin School Pupils at Council Offices
Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Chairperson, Councillor Pete Byrne took time to greet the pupils from Knockevin Special School on Friday 4 April and welcome them to the Council offices in Downpatrick.
At the reception he answered their questions and showed them around the Council Chamber, offering an engaging and educational experience. The children also shared stories about their school and community life.
Chairperson Councillor Pete Byrne said, “It was a pleasure to meet the wonderful pupils and staff from Knockevin School. Their enthusiasm and curiosity were truly inspiring. Visits like this are a great reminder of the importance of community engagement and inclusion.”
The Council remains committed to supporting local schools and fostering strong relationships with young people across the district.
