Chairperson Attends Premier International Property Industry Event to Promote Area

Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Chairperson, Councillor Roisin Mulgrew and Director of Enterprise, Regeneration and Tourism, Marie Ward were delighted to join Belfast City Council at Marché International des Professionnels de L’immobilier 2018 (MIPIM).

MIPIM, which took place in Cannes, France from 13-16 March, is the premier real estate event that gathers the most influential players from all sectors of the International Property Industry for networking, learning and interaction through high premier events, conferences and dedicated exhibition zones.  This was a fantastic opportunity to promote development and regeneration opportunities in the Newry, Mourne and Down Region.

Councillor Roisin Mulgrew said, “We had the opportunity to engage with key influencers in the development world and to promote and highlight that our Region is ‘open for business’ and that there are fantastic opportunities in both the Public and Private sectors for development.  We also met representatives from Government Bodies who are engaged in developing their local areas.  We look forward to building and developing these new partnerships as we move forward promoting Newry, Mourne and Down as ‘Open for Business and Empowering Potential.”

The Council will be examining how it can further develop this engagement at MIPIM for 2019, working with Belfast City Council.
