Camlough Resident Named Recycler of the Month
Camlough Resident Named Recycler of the Month
Roisin Austin from Camlough has been named as Newry, Mourne and Down District Council’s Recycler of the Month. Congratulations to Roisin who has won a £50 prize in the monthly competition that is sponsored by Castlereagh Motors.
Roisin was congratulated for having a flawless blue bin that contained no contamination. Roisin’s bin was filled with all the various materials that can be recycled in the blue bin including paper, cardboard, food and drink cans, bottles and cartons. All the material in the blue bin was clean, dry, loose and ready for sorting.
Roisin said, “I always fill both my blue and brown bin, it’s surprising how much you can actually recycle and I enjoy doing my bit for the environment. I am delighted to be awarded £50 and will donate it to the Children’s Cancer Unit in Belfast.”
Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Chairperson, Councillor Mickey Ruane said, “I would like to congratulate Roisin on her efforts to recycle. Her blue bin contained the full range of recyclable materials, therefore considerably reducing the amount of waste she sent to landfill in her black bin. The Council is delighted to be able to provide recognition to our residents for their recycling efforts. Residents are reminded that food waste, tissue, polystyrene food trays and plastic wrapping cannot be recycled in the blue bin.”
