An Exciting Mix of Events Continues at Sean Hollywood Arts Centre
Sean Hollywood Arts Centre continues to programme an exciting mix of events. This autumn it will showcase the very best by local artists and live performances as well as offer a varied mix of classes and demonstrations for people of all abilities and ages.
Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Chairperson, Councillor Roisin Mulgrew said, “I encourage everyone to come along to an event in this varied Arts Programme. There is something for everyone to enjoy this autumn”.
Some must see exhibitions include Operation Overload; a display organised by Louann Blair-Turner based on her father, Sergeant Neville C Henshaw, Royal Corps of Signals, recollections on the D. Day Landings.
The Mournes by Mark O’Neill, is an exhibition concentrating on the landscapes of the Mournes. The paintings themselves capture the changing seasons in this beautiful yet rugged landscape. Both exhibitions are on view until Thursday 28 September, Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 5.00pm. For evening and Saturday viewings, contact the Centre on 028 3031 3180.
If you would like to learn about floral art, there will be a Floral Art Demonstration Evening on Monday 25 September at 7.30pm costing £5 per person.
And on Friday 6 October at 8pm, expect guns, girls and the unexpected with a live performance of Roald Dahl’s, Tales of the Unexpected: Twisted Tales with a Twist in the Tail! This was essential Sunday night viewing in the 80’s and Wireless Mystery Theatre, Ireland’s ‘Master of Suspense’, brings the series to life, live on stage.
